Leap is a comprehensive tool designed to enhance site speed and performance. It is free for websites monetized with Ezoic. It supports a wide range of websites, including WordPress, Joomla, and custom PHP sites, making it versatile for different platforms. Leap is also compatible with a variety of site types, including informationl or reference, ecommerce, B2B, small businesses, agencies and consultants, sites with or without ads, and those using popular plugins.
Leap is recommended over tools like GTMetrix or Google PageSpeed Insights because those tools do not take into account Ezoic's lazy loading of ads. At Ezoic, we have found that serving ads as quickly as possible was not effective from a user experience or revenue aspect. Instead, we've found that it's better to stagger the loading of a page to ensure that the core content of a wepbage loads first, allowing users to interact with the page immediately while other elements, such as ads and social buttons, load in the background. This way users receive the aspect of the page they came to the site for (the content) first. This method is called "Lazy Loading" or "Asynchronous Loading."
The three integration methods that support Leap are: name server integration, Cloudflare integration, and WordPress integration. Name server or Cloudflare integration are recommended for optimal performance. Because WordPress integrated sites cannot use Ezoic's caching, WordPress integration is approximately 25% slower than the other two methods, which will affect core web vitals and visitor experience, particularly LCP scores. Sites integrating through name servers or Cloudflare should note there may be a delay of up to 18 hours before Leap is usable while DNS records propagate, after which they can fully leverage Leap's features.
