1099-NEC forms
Tips and Best Practices

Introduction

This article provides detailed information about the 1099-NEC forms, which are issued to US-based publishers who have earned $600 or more from Ezoic in a tax year. We'll also discuss the conditions under which these forms are sent and address common queries from European publishers regarding VAT IDs. By the end of this article, you'll have a clear understanding of the tax forms relevant to your earnings from Ezoic and how to manage them.

1099-NEC forms

1099-NEC forms, previously known as 1099-MISC, are crucial for ensuring that US-based publishers report their earnings accurately for tax purposes. These forms will be emailed to eligible publishers before the end of January each year. Eligibility criteria include:

  1. The publisher must have received $600 or more from Ezoic in the past tax year.
  2. The forms are not sent to corporations.
  3. Publishers paid via PayPal will not receive these forms from Ezoic. Publishers may or may not receive a 1099 from PayPal, depending on PayPal's reporting threshold: https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/current-form-1099-k-reporting-thresholds-2025-update-help1131. Publishers can contact PayPal Support directly to confirm or consult their tax advisor.

The forms from Ezoic will be sent from track1099.com.

Tips and Best Practices

For US-based publishers, ensure that your contact information is up-to-date to receive any necessary tax forms promptly. Remember that only those who received $600 or more from Ezoic within the past tax year will get a 1099-NEC form. Check your email regularly for important updates and documents.

Publishers in Europe with queries about VAT IDs should note that as Ezoic is a US-based company, we do not have a VAT ID.
