What is a Sticky Sidebar ad? How can I add a Sticky Sidebar ad to my site?

Modified on: Thu, 11 Jan, 2024

What is a Sticky Sidebar Ad Exactly?

A sticky sidebar ad remains in the same relative position when users scroll down the page.

It’s a great way to take advantage of your page design to boost your overall ad revenue, especially on longer posts.

As users continue to scroll down, they will see the sticky sidebar ad instead of blank space below your regular sidebar content.

This way you take advantage of the available ad space to earn more.

Here is an example of a sticky sidebar ad on a site:

See how it stays in place as you scroll down the page?  That's the 'sticky' bit!

Is it worth it?

Absolutely!

In fact, due to high viewability, advertisers will pay a premium to display their ads in this position.

Not only that, you even get to monetize across multiple advertisers. The sticky sidebar ad can refresh automatically, usually every 30 to 120 seconds.

How Can I Add Sticky Sidebar Ads To My Site?

This is rather straightforward. You will first need to make sure that the option for sticky sidebar ads is enabled in your Ezoic dashboard and then add a sticky sidebar placeholder to your site.

STEP 1: VERIFY AD TESTER SETTINGS

Log in and go to the EzoicAds > Ad Types > Sticky Sidebar and enable sticky sidebar ads.

METHOD B - WITH THE EZOIC CHROME EXTENSION

Alternatively, you can use the Ezoic Chrome extension to add a sticky sidebar placeholder.
