Change Name Servers at FastDomain

Last Updated over a month ago

Introduction

Changing your name servers is a crucial step in integrating Ezoic with your website, allowing you to optimize and enhance your site's performance. If your domain is registered with FastDomain, this guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to update your name servers to Ezoic's custom name servers. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your website is properly set up to take full advantage of Ezoic's features and services. Let's get started!

Steps

1. Before you do anything else, please check that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS records matches those at your host as per the instructions here

2. Log in to your FastDomain Control Panel.

3. Click the Domain link, at the top of the page.

4. Choose your domain name from the list of domains.

5. Then click the Name Servers tab.

6. Select Use Custom Nameservers.

7. Enter the custom name servers provided by Ezoic. These can be found under Settings > Connection > Name Servers > View Full Instructions

8. Click Save Nameserver Settings.

Please allow up to 48 hours for all changes to take full effect.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while updating your name servers for FastDomain, consider the following troubleshooting steps to resolve common problems:

  1. Name Server Changes Not Propagating:
    • Issue: After changing your name servers at Bluehost, it might seem like the changes are not taking effect.
    • Solution: Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for the integration to fully propagate. If it has been over 24 hours, double-check that you have entered the Ezoic name servers correctly. Ensure there are no typos or extra spaces. You can also use online DNS propagation check tools to see if the changes are being reflected globally.
  2. Site Not Working After Integration
    • Issue: Your site is down or not functioning correctly after completing the name server changes.
    • Solution: If the error is consistent, verify that the name servers are correctly entered and that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS record matches those at Bluehost. If the error is intermittent, consider the solutions listed here.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you can address and resolve common issues encountered during the process of updating name servers on FastDomain. For any persistent issues, you may need to reach out to FastDomain's or Ezoic's Support teams for further assistance.
