Introduction

Welcome to our comprehensive guide on the Ezoic Caching App! In this article, you'll learn everything you need to know about how the Ezoic Caching App works and how to effectively utilize it to enhance your website's performance. From understanding what caching is, to accessing and configuring the Caching App in your Ezoic Dashboard, this guide will walk you through each step. You'll also discover how to manage cache settings, manually clear the cache, create exclusion rules, and more. Whether you're a new publisher or looking to optimize your current setup, this article is designed to provide clear, step-by-step instructions to help you get the most out of the Ezoic Caching App.

Steps

1. Access the Caching App:

  • Navigate to your Ezoic Dashboard
  • Click on the 'Settings' tab to find the Caching App.

2. Turn On the Caching App:

  • Go to the Caching App in your Dashboard
  • Hit 'Enable Caching'.
  • Note: Ezoic's caching is only available with name server or Cloudflare integration
  • Note: AMP pages do not get cached by the Ezoic Caching App.

3. Set Cache Duration:

  • The app respects the maximum age cache headers set on your origin server by default.
  • If there is no maximum age specified, the default caching age is 30 days. This means your pages will be stored for 30 days before being updated again.
  • You can change the default caching age by scrolling down into the Advanced Settings section from the Caching tab. Set the number of seconds under Default Cache Age to your desired caching age, then click save.
  • If you want to override the maximum cache age set by the origin server, please enable 'Override Cache Control Headers' under the 'Advanced Settings' tab.

4. Manually Clear the Cache:

  • For Entire Site:
    • Click 'Clear All' under Clear All Caching within the app.
  • For Single URL/Group of URLs:
    • Enter the URL you want to clear in the textbox underneath where it says 'Clear cache by URL' and click 'Clear For URL'. Or, if wanting to clear multiple (but not all) URLs at the same time, enter each URL you want to clear un the textbox underneath where it says 'Clear cache by multiple URLs' and click 'Clear for URLs'.

5. Exclude Specific Pages or Directories:

  • In the Caching app, scroll down to the Advanced Settings section, and click on the 'Exclusion Rules' tab, then click 'Create New Rule'.
  • Select your Rule Target.
  • Enter the page, directory, URL parameter, or cookie to be excluded.
  • Click 'Save' when done.
