Introduction

Setting up an ads.txt file is essential for maximizing your ad revenue and ensuring ad quality on your Blogger or Blogspot site. Unlike WordPress, Blogger/Blogspot platforms do not support custom redirects for ads.txt files, making the setup process a bit different. This guide will walk you through the steps to configure your ads.txt file using Ezoic, ensuring your site is properly monetized and compliant with industry standards. Follow along to seamlessly integrate ads.txt entries and keep them updated for optimal performance.

Steps

  1. Log into Blogger/Blogspot.

  2. Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
  3. Scroll down to ‘Monetization’.
  4. Turn on ‘Enable custom ads.txt’.
  5. Copy/paste the Ezoic authorized ads.txt entries from your Ezoic dashboard (if you chose the automatic ads.txt setup option) or from your adstxtmanager.com account (if you chose the manual ads.txt setup option) into the custom ads.txt option at Blogger.

  6. Hit ‘save’ in the Blogger ads.txt app.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

  1. Issue: Ads.txt file is not updating automatically
    • Solution: Ezoic dynamically updates ads.txt files, but since Blogger/Blogspot does not support automatic updates for custom ads.txt files, you will need to manually update the entries. Monitor your email and Ezoic dashboard alerts for notifications about necessary updates. Copy the new ads.txt entries and paste them into the custom ads.txt option in Blogger, then save the changes.
  2. Issue: Decrease in ad revenue or ad serving
    • Solution: A decrease in ad revenue or ad serving can occur if your ads.txt file is not up-to-date. Make sure you are manually updating your ads.txt file as needed. Check your Ezoic dashboard and email notifications regularly for alerts about updates to your ads.txt file.
  3. Issue: Difficulty finding the custom ads.txt option in Blogger
    • Solution: Navigate to 'Settings' in the left-hand menu of your Blogger/Blogspot dashboard. Scroll down to the 'Monetization' section, and ensure 'Enable custom ads.txt' is turned on. This will allow you to paste your Ezoic authorized ads.txt entries.
  4. Issue: Errors while copying/pasting ads.txt entries
    • Solution: Ensure that you are copying the authorized ads.txt entries exactly from your Ezoic dashboard or adstxtmanager.com account. Any errors in the ads.txt file can lead to issues with ad serving. Double-check for any typos or missing lines before saving the changes in Blogger.
