Ezoic's JavaScript Debugger allows publishers to view all active ad placements on any page of their site directly in the browser. This is useful for confirming placement positions, checking which ads are loading, and understanding how your ad setup maps to your page layout.

Step 1: Enable the JavaScript Debugger

Append the following query parameter to the URL of any page where EzoicAds are integrated:

?ez_js_debugger=1

Example:

https://www.yourwebsite.com/?ez_js_debugger=1

Step 2: Enable the Placement Highlighter

Click the eye icon in the top right of the Debugger panel.

Step 3: Review Placement Positions

The highlighter applies a colored border to every Ezoic ad placement on the page:

• 🟢 Green — ad loaded successfully
• 🔵 Blue — placeholder called, but no ad was selected or filled
• 🟠 Orange — placeholder was not called

The placeholder ID is displayed in the top left corner of each highlighted placement.

Is a browser extension required to use the JavaScript Debugger?

No. The Debugger is activated via the URL parameter only and requires no additional tools.

Does enabling the Debugger affect what visitors see?

No. The ?ez_js_debugger=1 parameter only activates when manually appended to a URL and has no effect on regular site visitors.

Can I use this to see how ads appear on different devices?

Yes. Use your browser's developer tools to simulate different screen sizes while the Debugger is active to see how placements are configured across device types.

How do I adjust the size or settings of a placement I can see in the Debugger?

Note the placeholder ID displayed in the top left of the highlighted placement. Then locate it in your dashboard — WordPress Plugin users can find it under the Ad Placements tab in the plugin, while manual JS users can navigate to EzoicAds > Placeholders — and make changes from there.
