Introduction

In this article, you'll learn about the various tools and features Humix offers to seamlessly integrate videos into your website. We'll walk you through the simple steps of using the Auto Insert Function, linking your YouTube account, and embedding videos directly from Humix.

Steps

Auto Insert Function:

By default, Humix videos will be auto-inserted onto your website, allowing videos to be added seamlessly. Any pages without a manually inserted video player will utilize the auto-insert options. For optimal revenue performance, we always recommend leaving Humix Auto Insert enabled.

To make sure that Humix Auto Insert is enabled:

  1. Head to Humix

  2. Click on the ‘Site’ tab and then ‘Settings’

  3. Make sure ‘Automatically Insert Humix Player’ is toggled ON

Replace Existing YouTube Videos:

  1. Go to the Channel tab on your Humix dashboard.

  2. Next click YouTube Settings and hit "Link New Channel."

  3. Authorize Analytics to track video performance.

  4. Toggle on Replace Embedded YouTube Videos to replace your YouTube videos with Humix video players.

WARNING: Ensure you have imported all your videos you wish to replace with Humix videos as the replace feature only works for videos imported into Humix.

Embedding a standard Humix player:

  1. Choose the Embed Video option on the Overview tab of your Humix dashboard.

  2. Copy and paste the provided embed code directly onto your site. Alternatively, use the Humix plugin if you are using WordPress as your CMS to add the embed script via the Plugin.

NOTE: the standard Humix embed code respects the Video Content Settings you have enabled.

Embedding specific videos:

  1. Head to the Studio tab of your dashboard

  2. Hover over specific videos and click the < > icon, which allows you to copy the specific video embed code

  3. Copy and paste the provided embed code directly onto your site. Alternatively, use the Humix plugin if you are using WordPress as your CMS to add the embed script via the Plugin.

NOTE: To use this option you will need to firstly add videos to Humix, which you can do by adding videos from the Overview tab or importing from YouTube.

JS Snippet (standalone integration only):

  1. Head to Embed
  2. Copy/paste the JS snippet code to add the Humix player to your site

NOTE: the standard Humix embed code respects the Video Content Settings you have enabled.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while using Humix's video tools, here are some common problems and their solutions:

  1. Problem: Videos are not appearing on my website.

    • Solution: Ensure that the Auto Insert Function is enabled. Check your float settings and location preferences under the Video Content Settings. Also, confirm that you have selected either your videos, 3rd party videos from the Humix Network, or a combination of both.

  2. Problem: YouTube videos are not linking properly.

    • Solution: Navigate to the Channel tab on your Humix dashboard. Make sure you have linked your YouTube account and authorized analytics. Verify that you have enabled the setting to replace embedded YouTube videos with native Humix video players and that you have imported the videos from YouTube which you’re wishing to replace.

  3. Problem: Unable to upload videos directly to Humix.

    • Solution: Go to the Overview tab and check the available options. If the issue persists, try uploading videos via the Studio tab which provides additional options and a comprehensive view of your uploaded content.

  4. Problem: Embedded videos not matching the desired criteria.

    • Solution: Review your video content settings settings to ensure you have selected the correct option. Verify whether you want to embed “My videos and network videos (most recommended), network videos, or my video only.” Also, confirm that the videos are matched by page category or content category.

  5. Problem: Difficulty in generating the embed code.

    • Solution: Ensure you have followed the process correctly to get to the page where the embed code is generated. If you are using WordPress as your CMS, consider using the Humix plugin for easier integration.
