Introduction

This article is designed to assist users whose domain registrar (not host!) is Bluehost in seamlessly switching their name servers to Ezoic's, enabling integration. By following the instructions outlined here, you will be able to complete the name server change process swiftly and efficiently. 

Steps

1. Before you do anything else, please check that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS records matches those at your host (whether this is Bluehost or someone else) as per the instructions here.

2. Log into your Bluehost Control Panel.

3.Navigate to the side menu on the left and click Domains.

4. Depending how many domains are in your account the Domains section's may look slightly different. Descriptions of each feature are discussed below.

  • Only have one domain name in your account, you can scroll down directly to the Advanced Tools section to manage your name servers.

  • Multiple domain names in your account,  select ellipsis on the right of the domain, then click Manage.

5.  Scroll down to the Advanced Tools section and click on it.

6. Locate the Nameservers DNS option and click the MANAGE button

7. In a separate tab, go to Settings > Connection > Nameservers in your Ezoic Dashboard and find your new Ezoic name server addresses.

8. Copy each of the name servers listed under 'Change Name Servers to' and paste them into the fields in the custom name servers fields on your Bluehost page.

9. Click "Save Name Server Settings."

Keep in mind that it can then take up to 24 hours for your integration to fully propagate and your site to be turned on with our proxy. Otherwise you're all set!

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues while integrating with Ezoic via name server integration at Bluehost, here are some common problems and their solutions:

  1. Name Server Changes Not Propagating:
    • Issue: After changing your name servers at Bluehost, it might seem like the changes are not taking effect.
    • Solution: Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for the integration to fully propagate. If it has been over 24 hours, double-check that you have entered the Ezoic name servers correctly. Ensure there are no typos or extra spaces. You can also use online DNS propagation check tools to see if the changes are being reflected globally.
  2. Site Not Working After Integration:
    • Issue: Your site is down or not functioning correctly after completing the name server changes.
    • Solution: If the error is consistent, verify that the name servers are correctly entered and that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS record matches those at Bluehost. If the error is intermittent, consider the solutions listed here.
