Introduction

Changing your name servers is a crucial step in integrating your site with Ezoic, and doing so correctly ensures your site runs smoothly and benefits from Ezoic's features. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to change your name servers at Google Domains. By following these instructions, you will be able to seamlessly update your name servers to those generated by Ezoic, enhancing your site's performance and access to Ezoic's optimization tools. Let's get started!

Steps

1. Before you do anything else, please check that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS records matches those at your host as per the instructions here.

2. Sign in to Google Domains.

3. In the left-hand navigation menu, click "My domains."

4. Click the "DNS" tab for the domain name.

5. Under "Name servers," select "Use custom name servers."

6. Enter the custom name servers generated for you by Ezoic. These can be found under "Settings" > "Connection" > "Site Integration" > "Nameservers" > "View Instructions" in your Ezoic Dashboard.

7. Click the "+" button to add every name server generated for you by Ezoic.

8. Click "Save" to save your name servers.

9. Press "Switch to these settings" to activate the Ezoic Nameservers.

Please allow up to 48 hours for all changes to take full effect.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during the process of modifying your domain name's name servers, please consider the following common problems and their solutions:

  1. Name Server Changes Not Propagating:
    • Issue: After changing your name servers at Google Domains, it might seem like the changes are not taking effect.
    • Solution: Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for the integration to fully propagate. If it has been over 24 hours, double-check that you have entered the Ezoic name servers correctly. Ensure there are no typos or extra spaces. You can also use online DNS propagation check tools to see if the changes are being reflected globally.
  2. Site Not Working After Integration
    • Issue: Your site is down or not functioning correctly after completing the name server changes.
    • Solution: If the error is consistent, verify that the name servers are correctly entered and that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS record matches those at Google Domains. If the error is intermittent, consider the solutions listed here.
