Overview

A (record): A type of DNS record. It's important that the records at Ezoic match those found at the host. Typically, the site's IP address is listed under the @ hostname value, and sometimes the www can be found among these records. This is a required element for integration.

ads.txt: A file added to your site to verify ownership and indicate authorized sellers of your ad inventory. This is necessary for displaying ads on your site.

AdSense: Google's ad network.

API: Application Process Interface; a method for two or more computer programs to communicate with each other.

Big Data Analytics (BDA): Ezoic's tool that provides analytics data to publishers.

Bounce: A session where a user opens a single page on your site and exits without triggering any other requests.

Bounce Rate: The percentage of single-page sessions divided by all sessions on your site.

Compatibility Issues: Issues detected by our system during site integration. Common checks include ensuring the IP address on Ezoic's DNS records is up-to-date, SSL settings are correct, and no blocks by the host or a security layer.

Caching: The process of storing a site's version on a Content Delivery Network (CDN).

CNAME (record): A type of DNS record. It's important that the records at Ezoic match those found at the host. Generally, the www value is found here and is required for integration.

Core Web Vitals (CWS): Google metrics measuring user experience for loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability.

CDN: Content Delivery Networks, a global server network that serves content from the server closest to the user, enhancing site speed and reducing server load. Example: Cloudflare.

CMP: Consent Management Platform; allows users to opt in/out of cookies.

DNS Records: Domain Name Server; the system enabling communication between browsers, domains, IPs, and origin servers to deliver web pages.

Domain: The name of the website.

EPMV: Earnings per Thousand Visitors, Ezoic's preferred earnings metric.

GDPR: General Data Protection Regulation, a law giving EU, EEA, and UK citizens rights over their digital data, including the right to request data access or deletion.

Google Search Console (GSC): A tool provided by Google to help website owners monitor, maintain, and improve their site's performance in Google search results.

Host: The origin server where a domain is located (e.g., Hostinger, GoDaddy).

Host File: A .txt file used to map hostnames to an IP address, enabling bypassing of the Ezoic proxy without turning it off.

Integration: Connecting a domain to Ezoic's platform, allowing the implementation of Ezoic's technology. Main methods include name server, Cloudflare, and WordPress plugin.

IP Address: A unique string of numbers indicating the exact location of a website (e.g., 123.456.312.52).

Lazy Load: A process where ads or othon a page load in a staggered manner, allowing content to load first for immediate user interaction.

LCP: Largest Contentful Paint; measures website loading performance by tracking the time taken for the largest piece of visible content to appear on the screen, part of Google's Core Web Vital scores.

Mediation: Linking a publisher's existing ad networks, such as AdSense, with Ezoic, enabling competition between the publisher's ad networks and Ezoic's partners for advertising inventory.

Name Server: An Ezoic integration method where the publisher points their domain name to Ezoic DNS.

NicheIQ: Ezoic's suite of SEO tools to help publishers drive traffic and inform content strategy.

Origin Error: An error where the origin server fails to deliver the site to Ezoic's servers as expected, potentially caused by mismatched DNS records, incorrect SSL settings, blocked requests, or server downtime/maintenance.

Origin Server: The physical location where website data is stored.

Proxy: Ezoic's position between the host and the user upon integration.

Registrar: The company managing internet domain registrations.

SSL Certificate: Secure Sockets Layer Certificate, offered through Ezoic cloud integration methods.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization, the process of improving site traffic quality and quantity from search engines like Google.

TXT (record): A set of DNS records found at the host, required for integration.

Whitelisting: A method to resolve origin errors by having a host accept a specific shortlist of Ezoic IP addresses.

WordPress Integration: An Ezoic integration method where the publisher installs and activates the Ezoic WordPress plugin.
