The first and most important step of setting up ad testing is to wrap all of your existing ad code inside Code generated by Ezoic. This converts your existing ads into Ezoic placeholders when users visit Ezoic versions of your site. Users who visit non Ezoic versions of your site will see your original ad setup unaffected
Once you've configured your placeholder, click Save and we'll generate Ezoic placeholder code that looks like this:
Once you have the generated code snippet, you need to go to the tool you used to insert the ad unit to your site, and wrap it in the Ezoic snippet we've generated for you so that this:
<!-- Ezoic - bottom_of_page - bottom_of_page --> <div id="ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-148"> ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:inline-block;width:468px;height:60px" data-ad-client="ca-pub-123456789101112" data-ad-slot="5744848575"> </div> <!-- End Ezoic - bottom_of_page - bottom_of_page -->
Remember to make sure, when wrapping ads from your original setup, that link units and native ads are identified as such. All you need to do is select Link, native horizontal, or native vertical from this drop down menu when creating the new placeholder:
Ezoic will automatically detect and remove Adsense Auto ads or page level ads on Ezoic versions of the site so there's no need to wrap them!
It's important to make sure that every one of your ads from your original set up has been wrapped in Ezoic placeholder code for the following reasons:
It is your responsibility to ensure that each individual placement has the correct ad location selected AND that all of your placements comply with the Adsense Terms of Service (https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1346295?hl=en)
This includes no ads under pictures that mimic a slideshow, no ads too close to next buttons or menu items, no ads that look like content and no large ads on the first screen of mobile devices.
