Introduction

Changing name servers can be a daunting task, especially if you're using a hosting provider like Aruba. This guide aims to simplify the process by providing step-by-step instructions on how to integrate your WordPress website hosted on Aruba with Ezoic. From logging into your Aruba CPanel to updating your DNS settings, we've got you covered. By following these instructions closely, you can ensure a smooth transition and avoid common pitfalls such as missing MX records or extended propagation times. Let's get started and make this integration as seamless as possible!

Steps

  1. Before you do anything else, please check that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS records matches those at your host as per the instructions here.
  2. Log on to your Aruba CPanel.
  3. Click on DNS and Name Server Management.
  4. Once you have clicked through to the following page, select the “Use Other Name Server” option.
  5. You’ll be asked about your mail records. It is best to keep pointing your MX records to Aruba so that they do not go through Ezoic, as this could cause issues with mailing later on.
  6. After a few minutes, you will be able to manage your Name Servers once Aruba approves this action.
  7. Go to your Ezoic Dashboard, and in the settings, copy the new Name Servers shown in your Ezoic Dashboard.
  8. Paste the Name Servers shown in your Ezoic Dashboard into the Aruba Settings field that says "Host". Add/input all 4 Name Servers and then select "Continue".
  9. You will be taken back to the main page where you will click “Save Configuration”.
  10. A prompt will appear warning you that you will be changing Name Servers; click “Ok”.
  11. You will receive a warning that it will take about 10 minutes before changes start to take effect. Once this is done, you can turn off the Aruba caching if you choose to use Ezoic’s own Caching (recommended).
  12. Finish up the necessary changes. It can take up to 24 hours for Name Servers to change worldwide and for your site to be fully integrated with Ezoic.
  13. Once integrated, test out your Aruba Mail-System to double-check that everything works fine, which it should if you’ve set the settings up according to this instruction.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during the process of modifying your domain name's name servers, please consider the following common problems and their solutions:

  1. Name Server Changes Not Propagating:
    • Issue: After changing your name servers at Aruba, it might seem like the changes are not taking effect.
    • Solution: Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for the integration to fully propagate. If it has been over 24 hours, double-check that you have entered the Ezoic name servers correctly. Ensure there are no typos or extra spaces. You can also use online DNS propagation check tools to see if the changes are being reflected globally.
  2. Site Not Working After Integration
    • Issue: Your site is down or not functioning correctly after completing the name server changes.
    • Solution: If the error is consistent, verify that the name servers are correctly entered and that Ezoic's copy of your site's DNS record matches those at Aruba. If the error is intermittent, consider the solutions listed here.
