How Can I Integrate My Site with Ezoic?

Last Updated over a month ago

Introduction

Integrating your site with Ezoic is the first step to unlocking the full potential of Ezoic’s features and benefits. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the various methods available for connecting your site to Ezoic’s platform, so you can choose the best option for your setup. By the end of this guide, you’ll be ready to integrate your site seamlessly and start optimizing your site's performance with Ezoic.

Steps

Cloud Integration (Recommended)

1. Log into your Ezoic account and click on "Integrate Your Site."

Connecting via Name Servers:

2. Select the Name Server integration option.

You will see a table with your current name servers on the left and the custom Ezoic name servers on the right.

3. Update your site's name servers to the Ezoic ones at your registrar or host (wherever the name servers are managed).

It can take up to 18-24 hours for the Ezoic dashboard to register that the integration is complete due to caching and the DNS records/name servers needing to propagate across the internet.

Videos of how to update name servers at the most common registrars can be found here

Connecting via Cloudflare:

Ezoic will detect if your site is using the Cloudflare CDN.

2. Select the Cloudflare integration option.

3. Click the green button that says "Activate Via Own Account"

4. Enter your Cloudflare credentials to give Ezoic temporary access to the Cloudflare DNS and point your site to Ezoic.

WordPress Plugin Integration:

1. Make sure you have the most up to date version of WordPress. If you don't, we recommend upgrading Wordpress to at least 4.3 to ensure that the Ezoic plugin functions correctly after you enable it.

2. Log into your Ezoic account and click on "Integrate Your Site."

3. Click the WordPress Plugin option.

4. Download the Ezoic plugin to your WordPress site: Ezoic Wordpress Plugin

5. Install and activate the Ezoic plugin within WordPress.

6. Within the plugin, click on the "Integration Status" tab and check that Ezoic Integration has the status "WordPress Integrated."

7. Go to the Ezoic dashboard and click the green "Integration Completed" button.

*Please ensure you are running the latest version of the Ezoic plugin.

8. Setting up your API Key is highly recommended. You can find the Ezoic API key by going to "Leap" then "Caching" then "API Gateway."

9. Copy the generated API key. Go to the Ezoic plugin in WordPress. Go to the "CDN Settings" tab. Paste the API key in the "Ezoic API Key" field and click on "Save Settings."

Completion:

If you don't see the green checkmark after integration, click the green text shown at the end of the instructions for details. In many cases, integration simply takes a little while to propagate across the web.

You can assume integration is complete and continue with Ezoic configuration.

Troubleshooting

It is possible that after integrating you may see some type of origin error on the site. There are a few common reasons this may happen, and generally these have simple solutions. For more information on origin errors and how to solve them, see here.

If you are seeing a message in the dashboard about a Compatibility Issue, you can also go through the origin errors article or reach out to Ezoic Support at support.ezoic.com.

If you chose WordPress integration and integration is not being completed, please check whether you have any caching plugins or if there is any caching enabled at the host, and turn those off to see if that will allow integration to be completed.
