Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues or problems while using the Leap toolset, here are some common troubleshooting steps and solutions:

  1. Site Ranking Not Visible on Leaderboard:
    • Issue: Your site is not visible on the Leaderboard.
    • Solution: Ensure you have clicked the "Join the Leaderboard" button at the top right corner of the Leap page. This will allow your site to be ranked and visible on the Leaderboard.
  2. Understanding Core Web Vitals:
    • Issue: Unclear about what the core web vitals metrics mean and how they affect your site.
    • Solution: Use the “What does this mean” button available in the 'My Scores' tab. This will provide a detailed explanation of each core web vital and its impact on your site.

  3. Optimization Settings Not Working Correctly:
    • Issue: The optimization settings configured do not seem to be functioning as expected.
    • Solution: Always preview the optimization settings before activating them. Make sure to go through the short checklist on the preview page to confirm that all settings are working correctly and there are no conflicts with your site.
  4. Slow Site Performance Due to Technologies:
    • Issue: Certain technologies on your site are slowing down its performance.
    • Solution: Use the Technologies tab to identify and categorize the technologies in use. Look for technologies marked as 'Not recommended' or 'Needs Improvement' and consider replacing them with faster alternatives.
  5. High Bounce Rate or Exit Rate on Specific Pages:
    • Issue: Certain pages have a high bounce rate or users exit without a clear reason.
    • Solution: Use the Ezoic Lab to test these pages. Input the URL with the correct prefix (http:// or https://) and analyze the performance results. Identify what is causing the slow performance and follow the improvement suggestions provided.
  6. Problems with Configuration Settings:
    • Issue: The default configuration settings applied are not optimal for your site.
    • Solution: After being redirected to the configuration page, review and tweak the advanced settings in each optimization category to ensure they are the best fit for your site. Toggle the main category off if necessary to deactivate all associated advanced settings.

For any other issues not listed above, you can always open a Leap support ticket from the overview tab on the Leap page. This will allow you to get support on any queries related to issues with Leap.
