Introduction

Publishers may be wondering how they can view the placeholder set-up on their site after integrating via JavaScript. Ezoic's Chrome Extension can be used to view the placeholder set-up on a site integrated via name servers or Cloudflare but not JavaScript. Instead, Ezoic's JavaScript Debugger includes the functionality to view the placeholder set-up on a site integrated via JavaScript, making it easy to visualize exactly where placements are located on the page and see their status at a glance.

Instructions

To enable Ezoic's JavaScript Debugger, simply append the following query parameter to the URL of the page where your EzoicAds are integrated:

ez_js_debugger=1

For example:

https://www.yourwebsite.com/?ez_js_debugger=1

To enable the placement highlighter, click the highlight icon to the top right of the Debugger to turn it on:

The placement highlighter highlights all Ezoic ad placements on the page with colored borders:

  • Green = ad loaded
  • Blue = ad not selected/filled
  • Orange = placeholder not called

The placeholder ID can be seen to the top left of each highlighted ad placement:

This can be cross-referenced against the placements listed under the 'Ad Placements' tab of Ezoic's WordPress plugin (if using the plugin to integrate via JavaScript and create ad placements) or the placements listed under https://pubdash.ezoic.com/ezoicads/adpositions/placeholders (if not using the plugin, and manually integrating via JavaScript instead), in case you need to make changes.
