How Can I View The Old (Non-Ezoic) Version Of My Site?

Last Updated over a month ago

Introduction

Do you need to compare the old version of your website with the optimized Ezoic version? The 'View Old Site' option in your Ezoic dashboard makes this easy. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to access and use this feature, allowing you to effortlessly toggle between the original and Ezoic versions of your site. Whether you're conducting comparative tests or simply want to view the pre-Ezoic site, follow this guide to seamlessly switch between the two versions.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the EzoicAds app in your Ezoic Dashboard.
  2. Select 'Optimization Goals' from the left-hand side menu.
  3. Locate the 'View Old Site' tab within the 'Optimization Goals' section.
  4. To view the original version of your site:
    • Turn on the 'View Old Site' option.
    • Select 'View Old Site' to set a cookie on your local browser, ensuring that your browser always displays the original version of your site.
  5. To view the optimized Ezoic version of your site:
    • Select 'View Optimized Site' to set a cookie on your local browser, ensuring that your browser always displays the optimized version of your site.
  6. If you wish to switch back to the original site at any time, repeat the above steps and select 'View Old Site' to reset the cookie and ensure that your browser displays the original version of the site.

Troubleshooting

If users encounter issues when trying to use the 'View Old Site' option, here are some common problems and their solutions:

  1. Unable to Locate 'View Old Site' Tab:
    • Ensure you are in the EzoicAds app within your Ezoic Dashboard.
    • Navigate to the 'Optimization Goals' section on the left-hand side. The 'View Old Site' tab should be visible there.
  2. 'View Old Site' Option Not Working:
    • Make sure the option is turned on. If it is not, toggle it to activate.
    • Confirm that the cookie is set properly on your local browser. You may need to clear your browser cache and cookies and then try setting it again.
  3. Original Site Not Displaying:
    • Double-check that you selected 'View Old Site' and not 'View Optimized Site'.
    • Verify that the cookie for the original site is properly set. Sometimes browser settings or extensions might block cookies, so ensure your browser allows cookies from the Ezoic domain.
  4. Switching Between Sites Doesn't Reflect Changes:
    • After switching between 'View Old Site' and 'View Optimized Site', refresh your browser to ensure changes take effect.
    • If issues persist, try accessing the site from an incognito window or a different browser to see if the problem is browser-specific.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, reaching out to Ezoic support for further assistance might be necessary.
