How Do I Connect with Ezoic via the WordPress Plugin?

Last Updated over a week ago

Introduction

Welcome! If you're running a WordPress site and looking to integrate it with Ezoic, you're in the right place. This guide will walk you through the steps to connect your site using the Ezoic WordPress Plugin. Although we recommend using name server or Cloudflare integration for optimal performance, the WordPress Plugin offers a quick and simple alternative. By the end of this article, you'll understand the benefits of using the plugin and have detailed instructions on how to install and activate it. Let's get started and unlock the full potential of your WordPress site with Ezoic!

Steps

  1. Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of WordPress. If you don't, we recommend upgrading WordPress to at least 4.3 to ensure that the Ezoic plugin functions correctly after you enable it.

  2. If you haven't already, create an account with Ezoic.

  3. Log into your Ezoic dashboard and follow the steps to integrate your site.

  4. Select the WordPress integration option.

  5. Follow the steps in your Dashboard to download, install, and activate the Ezoic plugin on your WordPress site:
    Step 1: Download the plugin.

Step 2: Go into the plugin, click on the "Integration Status" tab, and check that the site is listed as 'WordPress Integrated'.

Step 3: Once this is active in your WordPress account, make sure to click 'Integration Completed' in the Ezoic Dashboard.

  6. Setting up your API Key is highly recommended. You can find the Ezoic API key under Settings > API. Copy the generated API key, paste this into the 'Ezoic API Key' field of the 'CDN Settings' tab of the Ezoic plugin, and click on 'Save Settings'.

  7. You’re now integrated with Ezoic! Continue with the Ad Tester setup and switch your site on in your Ezoic dashboard when this is complete: Ad Tester Getting Started Guide

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues while using the Ezoic WordPress plugin, here are some common problems and their solutions:

  1. WordPress Plugin Integration Slows Down Site:
    • Issue: The WordPress plugin may add some additional load time, which can affect site speed.
    • Solution: We recommend using Cloud Integration (Name Server Integration or Cloudflare Integration) instead, as these methods do not add additional load time and allow you to use Ezoic's caching services effectively.
  2. Plugin Functionality Issues:
    • Issue: The plugin may not function correctly if you are using an outdated version of WordPress.
    • Solution: Ensure you have the most up-to-date version of WordPress, preferably at least version 4.3, to make sure the Ezoic plugin works correctly.

If these solutions do not resolve your issue, or if you experience other problems not listed here, please reach out to Ezoic Support for assistance.

FAQs

What are the benefits of being integrated via WordPress Plugin?

  • It’s quick and simple to set up
  • Leaves all elements of the website and code unchanged
  • Does not affect hosting and you can continue to use and update your website using WordPress normally

Can I use Leap when integrated via WordPress Plugin?

Unfortunately, WordPress Plugin Integration is currently not compatible with Leap, Ezoic's site speed optimization tool. We recommend using cloud integration (Name Server Integration or Cloudflare Integration) as these allow you to use Leap's site speed optimization and caching services.

Can I use the Ezoic SSL certificate while integrated via WordPress Plugin?

Unfortunately, our SSL app is not currently compatible with the Ezoic WordPress plugin. Luckily, using Ezoic's SSL is usually not necessary, as most hosts will provide an SSL certificate as part of your hosting package, meaning Ezoic's SSL adds an extra layer of security but isn't strictly required for site functionality. But if you do want to use Ezoic's SSL certificate for any reason, we suggest using cloud integration via nameserver or via Cloudflare instead.
