Introduction

Integrating your website with Ezoic using Cloudflare is a seamless process that can significantly enhance your site's performance and security. This guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to use your existing Cloudflare account to integrate with Ezoic, ensuring faster page load times and robust protection against online threats. By following these instructions, you'll be able to leverage the benefits of Cloudflare's content delivery network (CDN) in conjunction with Ezoic's platform, without altering your website's content or code. Let's get started on optimizing your site for better speed and security.

Steps

1. Ensure you already have an active Cloudflare account and your nameservers are pointed to Cloudflare.

2. Sign into your Ezoic Dashboard, navigate to the get started today section and select the integrate your site option.

3. Click the green Activate via own account button.

4. Enter your Cloudflare account details and press the Save button once these have been updated.

5. Congratulations! Your site will now be integrated with Ezoic.

Troubleshooting

Common issues users may encounter during the integration process and their solutions are outlined below:

  1. DNS Records Not Matching:
    • Issue: After integrating, users may find that their DNS records and IP addresses do not match between Ezoic and Cloudflare.
    • Solution: Verify the DNS settings by navigating to your Ezoic Dashboard > Settings > DNS Settings. Ensure that the DNS records and IP addresses match those on Cloudflare.
  2. SSL Certificate Incompatibility:
    • Issue: Users may experience issues if the SSL settings in Ezoic's SSL app do not match those on Cloudflare.
    • Solution: Check and confirm that the SSL settings in Ezoic's SSL app are identical to the ones on Cloudflare. This article has more information.
  3. Account Integration Problems:
    • Issue: Users may face difficulties during the initial integration due to incorrect Cloudflare account details.
    • Solution: Double-check your Cloudflare account details when prompted during the integration process. Make sure to press 'Save' after updating the details.
  4. General Integration Errors:
    • Issue: Users might encounter errors indicating that the site has not been properly integrated.
    • Solution: Ensure that you have an active Cloudflare account and that your nameservers are correctly pointed to Cloudflare before starting the integration.

FAQs

1. What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is a reliable content delivery network (CDN). A CDN is a proxy service which uses a large distributed system of servers deployed in multiple data centres across the Internet, optimizing the delivery of your web pages and ensuring your visitors get the fastest page load times. Ezoic uses Amazon Cloudfront CDN. Cloudflare also blocks threats from bots and crawlers to keep your website safe.

2. How do Ezoic and Cloudflare work together with your site?

Ezoic is a Certified Cloudflare partner (see here for confirmation of Ezoic partnership status), so if you have an existing Cloudflare account and are using Cloudflare nameservers, you can easily integrate with our platform. By installing the Cloudflare app, we will use their service to serve your site, improving load times and performance.

The Ezoic system views your site in the same way as Cloudflare does, essentially ‘sitting’ between the site and your users. This has a number of benefits - primarily it means that the Ezoic system does not have to access nor can it change any code, or anything on the back end of your site. So your content and coding remains the same and you retain full control of whether your site is integrated with Ezoic. You can uninstall the app at any time and we will revert to Cloudfront, Amazon's CDN.

At no time does Ezoic store your Cloudflare password. Your username is stored, but as soon as your password is used to authorize/create a token for Ezoic to make changes to the DNS Records (so that traffic can be routed through Ezoic at the DNS level), that password is deleted, so our system no longer has any record of the password.
